Sound City (Trailer)
The trailer for Dave Grohl’s new documentary, Sound City, has appeared online. The film is set to tell the story of the legendary L.A. recording studios and will feature interviews with Tom Petty, Josh Homme, Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor and several other artists who recorded at the Van Nuys facility. Sound City opened for business in 1969 and played host to the sessions for Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush, Nirvana’s Nevermind and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours (to name but a few). The studio closed in 2011.
Speaking to Rolling Stone earlier this year, Grohl said: “When Sound City closed last year, it was a very sad day. I decided to make a film about that feeling you get when you put five guys in a room, hit “record,” and the hair on the back of your neck stands up.”
